Ordering QR Code Tags for Docket-Tracked Assets
You can order pre-printed QR code tags from any vendor that supports durable, scannable printing. Docket no longer maintains an exclusive partnership for tag production, so you’re free to choose the supplier that best fits your business.
Follow these steps to make sure your QR code tags work correctly with Docket:
Step 1: Generate QR Codes in Docket
-
Open the Docket web app.
-
Use your current asset list to generate PINs.
-
Alternatively, upload a CSV or Excel file containing your asset PINs.
-
You can use the example file provided—just add your PINs to the first column and keep the “Pin” header in cell A1.
Step 2: Choose a Vendor and Order Tags
-
Provide your vendor with the QR code image files generated in Docket.
-
Ask about material options such as vinyl, aluminum, or polyester—these tend to hold up best in field environments.
-
Confirm that your tags will print with high-contrast QR codes and your preferred asset details (like asset name or company logo, if desired).
-
Request a proof before printing large quantities to verify scan quality.
Step 3: Install and Use Tags in the Field
Once you receive your printed tags, attach them to the correct assets and scan them using the Docket mobile app. Since your PINs are already encoded, the QR codes will automatically link to the correct asset records.
TIP: Keep a few extra tags on hand for replacements. You can reorder from any vendor at any time using your saved QR code files.
