Once your dumpster assets are added to Docket, it’s important to configure related settings for optimal scheduling, routing, and dispatching. This article explains how to adjust settings by size, add locations, and set scheduling time windows.
Dumpster Settings by Size
These settings ensure Docket recognizes the dumpster sizes you’ve added:
- Navigate to Account > Settings > Add Ons > Dumpster Management.
- Click Use Suggested Sizes to let Docket auto-fill dumpster sizes based on your assets.
- If a size doesn’t appear while scheduling, verify that it’s listed here. A newly added dumpster size might need to be updated in this section.
Locations
Adding dump sites and yard locations simplifies routing and provides drivers with turn-by-turn directions in Docket’s mobile app.
- Add Dump Locations:
- Go to the Locations section and click Add Dump.
- Provide:
- Name of the dump site.
- Waste Materials accepted (selected from the Dumpster Settings by Size area).
- Categories (broad material types accepted by the dump).
- Average Onsite Duration.
- Address, email, or phone contact for the location.
- Add Yard Locations:

Scheduling Options: Time Windows
Time Windows help prevent over-scheduling by defining when dumpsters are available for rent.
- Go to Scheduling Options at the bottom of the Dumpster Management settings.
- Turn on the Time Windows toggle.
- Set availability for each dumpster size:
- Timeframe Start and End: Specify rental hours for each day of the week.
- Intervals: Set time blocks (e.g., 30 minutes or 1 hour).
- Asset Availability: Define how many dumpsters of this size are rentable during the time window.
- Repeat for all sizes and days as needed.
These settings ensure your dumpster inventory and scheduling align with your business needs, improving workflow and customer satisfaction.
