Organizing and managing your customers effectively in Docket requires configuring the right client-related settings. This article explains how to adjust client types, tags, and dashboard settings, as well as customize billing preferences.
Client Settings Overview
- Access Client Settings:
- Go to Account > Settings > Company.
- Click on the Client Settings card.
Configuring Billing Settings for Client Types
- Terms and Conditions:
- In the Billing section, assign terms and conditions to specific client types.
- To create unique agreements for a customer, add their business name as a client type and set up terms for that type.
- Billing Options by Client Type:
- Found under Dumpster Management > Billing.
- Customize whether billing is done via invoices or charges for each client type.
- Adjust the tasks that generate invoices or charges by client type.
Client Dashboard Settings
- DocketShop Ordering:
- Toggle on DocketShop Ordering to allow online booking via the client dashboard (DocketShop add-on required).
- Visibility Settings:
- Turn off Show Task Images to keep internal records private.
- Enable Show Weight Ticket Images to provide transparency for weight overage charges.
Setting Up Client Tags and Types
- In the Tags section:
- Add Client Types, Pricing Types, and Lead Types to categorize and organize customers.
- Ensure these match exactly with your pricing matrix or import templates.
- Save any changes to ensure they are applied across your account.
Invoice Customization by Client Type
- Signature Requirements:
- Go to Billing Settings > Invoice Tab > Additional Options.
- Enable Signature Required and customize by client type to ensure agreement with terms before starting new jobs.
- Include Notes and Attachments:
- In Billing Settings > General Tab > Client Dashboard, enable this setting to display relevant notes or attachments on estimates and invoices.
Adjusting Customer-Specific Settings
- In a customer profile, click the Gear Icon next to the Actions dropdown.
- Under Dumpster Management, customize billing and task options for the individual customer.
