DocketShop Setup Step 7: Add DocketShop to Your Website

Once you're all done setting up DocketShop in your Docket account, you’re ready to add it to your website so online visitors can start booking your products online!

There are 3 ways to integrate DocketShop with your website:

  1. Direct URL

  2. iFrame Element

  3. Embedded Script (Recommended)

TIP: If you have a website built by Docket and you want to add DocketShop to it, please use one of the channels below to contact us so we can add it for you:

This article is Step 7 of 7 steps listed in our DocketShop Setup Directory.

Before You Start

Here are a few things to know before you continue:

  • We have a training course in the Learning Hub specifically designed to walk you through your DocketShop setup!
Click here to go to the Learning Hub and log in.
Click here to learn how to log into the Learning Hub.
Click here for more info on both our 'Setting Up DocketShop' courses.
  • You must have Admin or Office Staff permissions in order to set up DocketShop.
  • You must have a phone number in your Docket profile.
  • You must have at least one asset in your Docket account.
  • You must have at least one pricing template set up or your pricing matrix imported into your Docket account.
  • You must be set up with an online payment processor.
  • DocketShop is separate from a website and cannot be used without one. Docket provides website services if you don’t already have one. To learn more, click here!
  • If you’re on our Grow plan, you automatically get Basic DocketShop. If you’re on our Pro plan, you automatically get Premium DocketShop.

Please Note: It’s very important to add your assets and pricing templates or pricing matrix into Docket BEFORE having us activate your DocketShop subscription.

DocketShop automatically pulls in your asset inventory and pricing ONCE when it’s first activated. Moving forward you’ll need to manually update your assets and pricing information, so make sure you have most of the work done beforehand!

Direct URL Integration

This is a direct link to your DocketShop outside of your business website, allowing clients to book online via a standalone webpage.

TIP: This method works best for smaller businesses that don't yet have a business website where they can embed DocketShop under a 'Book Now!' button. You can also add this link to your social media, paid ads, and/or QR Codes.

To find your Direct URL, just follow the below instructions:

  1.  Click on "Online Booking" to the left.
  2. Click on "Website Scripts".
  3. Scroll down to the Direct URL field.
  4. Click "Copy to Clipboard".

iFrame Element

If you have a business website, this method allows you to embeds DocketShop directly into a specific page of your website.

TIP: This option works well if you want clients to see the full booking experience directly on a dedicated page of your website.

To iFrame DocketShop into an existing webpage, just follow the below instructions:

  1. Click on "Online Booking" to the left.
  2. Click on "Website Scripts".
  3. Scroll down to the Website <iframe> Element field.
  4. Click "Copy to Clipboard".

  5. Log in to your website editor platform.
  6. Go to the page where you want to embed DocketShop and edit it, adding the iFrame code into the HTML of that page.
  7. Don't forget to save your changes!

Please Note: If you're not sure where to add the iFrame code, please contact your website provider; our Support team will not be able to assist you with this.

Embedded Script (Recommended)

Embedding DocketShop's Script is the best way to add DocketShop to your business website. It automatically links with you "Book Now" button(s) on your website so that they open DocketShop right within your website.

TIP: This option works best if you want a simple, prominent button on your website without redesigning a full page. It keeps clients on your site while making booking fast and easy from anywhere they click.

To embed DocketShop's Script into your website, just follow the below instructions:

  1. Click on "Online Booking" to the left.
  2. Click on "Website Scripts".
  3. Click "Copy Scripts" to the right.

  4. Log in to your website editor platform.
  5. Go to your Header or Footer editor and paste the Script into that field.
  6. Don't forget to save your changes!

Please Note: If you're not sure where to add the Script code, please contact your website provider; our Support team will not be able to assist you with this.

Use Your Website's "Book Now" Button(s)

The Website Script you copy/pasted in the last section is setup to automatically link with the button(s) that already exists on your website; the script will not automatically create a button on your website.

In order for DocketShop to successfully appear when someone clicks a "Book Now" button on your website, the text on your button needs to be added to the Webpage Phrases field so the script you add to your website's header or footer knows to look for that (shown in the below screenshot).

The default button text that DocketShop will look for includes "Book Now", "Book Now!", and "BOOK NOW" because these are common phrases our customers use on their websites.

However, the button(s) that appear on your website may use different text like "Order Here", "Book Here", "Reserve Online", "Request Dumpster", etc...

DocketShop will not automatically link to those button(s) because the button text is different than what it's looking for. You'll need to replace the default button text in the Webpage Phrases field with your actual button text.

Please Note: When you replace the button text in the Webpage Phrases field, you need to make sure each phrase is comma separated if you're adding more than one. If you look at the screenshot below you'll see how they need to be formatted (don't add a space in between!).

Don't forget to click "Save Changes" when you're done!

After you've updated the Webpage Phrases field, you'll need to re-copy the Website Script and re-paste it into your website's header or footer, or reach out to our team to update your website if Docket built it.
