Training Courses and Learning Paths Overview

Our training courses and Learning Paths are designed to help you build confidence and efficiency across your day-to-day workflows while using Docket.

As you learn how to be successful in Docket and/or train new team members, these courses provide practical guidance and real world context to help you get more value from Docket.

Before You Start

Here are a few things to know before you continue:

  • The training assets in Docket's Learning Hub are free for all active users.
  • In order to access these courses, you'll need to log into the Learning Hub.
  • If you've never logged into Docket's Learning Hub, please review the instructions here.
  • The Learning Hub is accessible 24/7 and available on any device.

Individual Training Courses

A Training Course is a single collection of certain lessons that all focus on a single topic, like account setup, billing your clients, or DocketShop.

You’ll progress through a course by completing each lesson in order until you reach the end-of-course-survey, complete it, and earn your course completion certificate.

There are currently 7 individual training courses available in Docket's Learning Hub. These courses are topic-specific and designed with a particular type of user in mind.

Getting Started with Docket

Audience: Account Owners and their Admins

Estimated Time to Complete: 2.5hrs (time varies by learner)

This training course will walk you through everything you need to set up your shiny new Docket account and prepare for a successful launch.

You’ll learn how to add employees (users), vehicles, assets, and clients; configure your billing templates; and set up key tools like your Local Phone Number and ReviewGuard.

Scheduling Dumpster Tasks

Audience: Office Staff that are responsible for Order Entry

Estimated Time to Complete: 50mins (time varies by learner)

This training course will walk you through everything you need to know to be successful using Docket during the Order Entry part of a dumpster rental workflow.

You’ll learn how to create and manage one-time and recurring tasks; connect tasks; create and manage client profiles and their information; and work from the Schedule page.

Dispatching Dumpster Tasks

Audience: Office Staff that are responsible for Dispatching

Estimated Time to Complete: 1hr (time varies by learner)

This training course will walk you through everything you need to know to be successful using Docket during the Dispatching part of a dumpster rental workflow.

You’ll learn how to create and manage client profiles; work from the Dispatch Board; and optimize/manage drivers' routes.

Billing Your Clients

Audience: Office Staff that are responsible for Billing

Estimated Time to Complete: 30mins (time varies by learner)

This training course will walk you through everything you need to know to be successful using Docket during the Billing part of a dumpster rental workflow.

You’ll learn how to create one-time and recurring invoices; process clients' payments; manage invoices, like voiding and refunding; and handle billing issues.

Launching Your Docket Website 

Audience: Account Owners and their (Website) Admins

Estimated Time to Complete: 45mins (time varies by learner)

This training course will walk you through everything you need to set up your shiny new Docket website.

You’ll learn what your build options are, how to review our websites team's designs, and how to manage your website once it's live.

Setting Up DocketShop with Pricing Templates 

Audience: Account Owners and their Admins

Estimated Time to Complete: 1hr (time varies by learner)

This training course will walk you through setting up your DocketShop add-on feature in your Docket account. It also shows you how to connect your pricing templates to DocketShop for a seamless customer experience on your website.

You'll learn tips for using each of DocketShop's main settings; how to add/edit your inventory and asset availability; and how to set up webforms to collect online client information.

Audience: Account Owners and their Admins

Estimated Time to Complete: 1hr (time varies by learner)

This training course will walk you through setting up your DocketShop add-on feature in your Docket account. It also shows you how to connect your pricing matrix to DocketShop for a seamless customer experience on your website.

Learning Paths

A Learning Path is a program that contains a collection of different training courses, each with their own set of lessons. You’ll complete each individual training course until you finish the last one.

Unlike individual training courses, you won't get a completion certificate for completing a Learning Path.

There are currently 2 different Learning Paths available in Docket's Learning Hub. They combine related courses into a full workflow that match common types of users.

Account Owner/Admin: Working Daily in Docket 

Audience: Account Owners and their Admins

Estimated Time to Complete: Time will vary by learner

This Learning Path is designed for Docket Account Owners and Admins who are responsible for setting up and configuring their Docket account as well as scheduling Dumpster tasks, dispatching Dumpster tasks, AND billing clients.

It combines the below 4 courses into one comprehensive path towards setting up and working in your Docket account daily. 

  • Getting Started with Docket
  • Scheduling Dumpster Tasks
  • Dispatching Dumpster Tasks
  • Billing Your Clients

Please Note: If you're not responsible for all three of the items listed above, you should enroll in the individual training course that applies to your responsibilities instead of enrolling in this Learning Path.

Office Staff: Working Daily in Docket

Audience: Office Staff

Estimated Time to Complete: Time will vary by learner

This Learning Path is designed for Docket users who are responsible for scheduling dumpster tasks, dispatching those tasks, AND billing clients.

It combines the below 3 courses into one comprehensive path towards working in your Docket account daily. 

  • Scheduling Dumpster Tasks
  • Dispatching Dumpster Tasks
  • Billing Your Clients

Please Note: If you're not responsible for all three of the items listed above, you should enroll in the individual training course that applies to your responsibilities instead of enrolling in this Learning Path.
