The Dumpsters.com integration connects your Docket account to Dumpsters.com so you can receive brokered dumpster orders directly in Docket instead of by email or logging into two separate platforms.
Once you're connected, incoming orders land in the Brokers tab where you'll accept or decline them like any other order.
Docket automatically sends status updates back to Dumpsters.com as you complete the work so you don't have to manually update two systems.
Before You Start
Here are a few things to know before you continue:
- The Dumpsters.com integration is a paid add-on available only to Pro and Pro+ plans. Please reach out to our Support team for more information.
- You must have Admin access to your company's Docket and Dumpsters.com accounts in order to set up the integration.
- You must already be an approved Dumpsters.com partner with a Partner ID before you can connect the integration in Docket.
- Dumpsters.com typically doesn't approve businesses with fewer than 3 trucks.
Partnering with Dumpsters.com
It's important to note that Docket has no influence on whether Dumpsters.com approves you as a partner; they are the sole decision-maker and don't share their criteria with us. We cannot approve, decline, accelerate, or appeal your partner application.
All Docket accounts include up to 25 brokered orders, so technically you can set the integration up on your own and receive a maximum of 25 orders from them. However, if you receive more than 25 orders a month you'll need to upgrade your account in order to see those in Docket.
To learn more about partnering with Dumpsters.com, just click on the "Learn More" button on their integration card in your Docket account.
You'll see a high-level breakdown of the partnership and clicking the Sign Up" button takes you to a special form that notifies both Dumpsters.com and Docket that you're interested in setting up a partnership.
After you're approved and the integration is set up, Docket and Dumpsters.com share information between platforms automatically so both systems stay accurate without any extra work on your part.
The shared information includes:
- Order Status: Accepted or Declined (with a reason).
- Task Status Events and Timestamp: In Progress (with ETA, if enabled), Failed (with reason), Completed, and Not Completed (reverted).
- Weight Ticket Info: net weight, ticket number, ticket images, dump location, and material types.
- Photos: dumpster location, contents, and failed services.
Dumpster.com orders will still be emailed to you, but they'll also appear in Docket's Brokers tab for you to review and take action on.
Set Up the Integration in Docket
Once your business is approved as a Dumpsters.com partner, it's very easy to set up the integration in your Docket account.
To do that, just follow the instructions below:
- Click into "Account" on the left.
- Click on "Settings" at the top.
- Click on "Integrations" right underneath.
- Click "Credentials" on the Dumpsters.com card.
- Enter your Partner ID from Dumpsters.com in the prompt that appears.
Please Note: Docket cannot provide this for you; you must obtain it from Dumpsters.com directly. - Click "Save" to confirm the integration.
You'll now see two new buttons on the Dumpsters.com card and will start receiving brokered dumpster orders from them.
Choose Your Integration Settings
Clicking on the "Settings" button will bring up a few data sharing options that give you control over what information Docket sends back to Dumpsters.com.
Link to Existing Dumpsters.com Client: If you've worked with Dumpsters.com before enabling the integration and have been using a specific client profile to manage those tasks, use this setting to link it to that existing client profile in your account to prevent duplicate client records. Once you select a client, all integration tasks attach to that client going forward. If you skip this, Docket creates a new client named "Dumpsters.com" by default.
Note Field Assignment: Choose which note fields receive the notes that come in on Dumpsters.com orders. You can pick one or more of the options listed.
Share Task Failure Reason: This controls whether Dumpsters.com sees why a task failed. When it's on, they'll get the failure reason automatically which cuts down on their follow-up questions. When it's off, the failure reason stays private, but Dumpsters.com may reach out to you about it.
Share Task Images: This controls whether the photos that your team takes get shared with Dumpsters.com. These images help confirm dumpster placement, document what was hauled, and provide evidence if an issue comes up.
Share Ticket Images: This controls whether weight ticket images get shared with Dumpsters.com. These help confirm the actual tonnage hauled, support billing accuracy, and help with compliance tracking.
Share Dump Location: This controls whether you share where materials were dumped or disposed of, including the disposal facility, material tracking, and compliance info. This keeps the disposal process transparent and helps with proper waste tracking.
Share Invoice Data: This controls whether invoice data is sent shared to Dumpsters.com, including totals, line items, taxes and fees, payment status, dates, and service info. This gives Dumpsters.com better visibility for support and reconciliation.
Don't forget to click "Save" at the bottom!
