Docket's Jobs feature is ideal for managing non-dumpster-based services such as junk removal, material delivery, or general project-based work. This guide walks through how to configure, schedule, manage, and invoice jobs using Docket’s job dashboard and related tools.
When to Use Jobs vs. Dumpster Tasks

Step 1: Initial Job Configuration
Required Settings
- Billing Template Categories
- Navigate to: Settings > Company > Billing Settings
- Add categories like "Junk Removal," "Landscaping," etc.
- Billing Templates
- Navigate to: Billing > Templates
- Create templates like:
- "Half Truck Haul"
- "Full Truck Haul"
- "Junk Removal Services" (set cost to $0 for quote-based jobs)
- Employee Tags (Optional)
- Navigate to: Settings > Company > Employee Settings
- Add tags such as "Junk Hauling," "Dumpsters," "Landscaping"
- Terms & Conditions
- Navigate to: Settings > Billing Settings > Invoice
- Add custom terms for junk jobs under the relevant category
Step 2: Scheduling a Job
Creating a Job
- Use the + New > Schedule Event > Job workflow
- Add:
- Client Info (billing & service address)
- Description (what needs to be done)
- Start Date / Time
- Job Duration (in hours or days)
- Priority (Low/Medium/High)
- Bid Indicator (if the job is still in estimation phase)
- Team Members + Vehicle
- PO / Project Name (optional)
- Additional Notes
- Attach Forms or Checklists (optional)
Step 3: Managing the Job (Jobs Dashboard)
Job Details Tab
- Edit job description, status, team, address, and duration
- Mark job as complete/incomplete
- View linked client info
Team Tab
- Add/remove assigned employees
- Assign a vehicle
Billing Tab
- Invoice Options:
- Create manual invoice
- Create estimate (then convert to invoice)
- Apply payment to invoice
- Estimate Conversion Workflow:
- Create estimate
- Send to client
- View response (accepted/declined)

Sharing Forms
- Email directly from Forms tab
- Use Copy URL or Copy Embed URL for website
