Dumpster Rentals by Category [Beta] Report Overview

Stay on top of your dumpster rental operations with the Dumpster Rentals by Category [Beta] Report. This report gives you a clear view of task activity and tonnage moved, organized by dumpster category and task type. Use this report to monitor logistics, identify high-volume rental categories, and support planning for resource allocation and route or bin optimization.

Before You Start

Here are a few things to know before you continue:

  • By default, Admins and Office Staff have access to Reports (Beta). Admins can also choose to grant access to other roles.
  • If you don't see the Reports (Beta) option in your menu, you may not have the necessary permissions. Reach out to your Admin for access.

Key Features 

  • Report Summary: Displays key metrics of totals for different dumpster task types and the total average tons.
  • Filtering Options: Allows users to filter dump tasks by date range, timezone, client type, and change unit of measurement (tons or tonnes).
  • Dumpster Rentals Table: Provides a detailed list of the number of tasks completed and weight totals for a dumpster category. 

Run the Dumpster Rentals by Category [Beta] Report

  1. Click "Reports (Beta)" in the left-hand menu under Administration.
  2. Scroll down to find Dump Rentals by Category [Beta] listed under Operations Reports.
  3. Click the "Open Inline" icon to run the report in Docket.

Dumpster Rentals by Category [Beta] Report Summary

When the report loads, the tasks summary at the top provides a look into dumpster tasks and average tons totals for the specified date range. When you change the date range of the report, or apply filters, the summary will automatically update based on your selections.

The different categories in this summary of dumpster rentals are: 

  • Total Drop Off: Number of drop off tasks.
  • Total Pick Up: Number of pickup tasks.
  • Total Exchange: Number of exchange tasks.
  • Total Live Load: Number of live load tasks.
  • Total Relocate: Number of relocate tasks.
  • Total Failed: Number of failed (unsuccessful) tasks.
  • Total Dump and Return: Number of dump and return tasks.
  • Total Average Tons (Tonnes): Sum of all per-category average tons.
  • Grand Total Count: Sum of all dumpster rental task totals across all categories.

Report Filters

Next to and below the dumpster rentals by category summary, you can refine your results using filter options.

The Dumpster Rentals by Category [Beta] Report offers a range of filters to help you narrow down and view specific data:

  • Units of Measurement: Select which unit measurement will be used to show the volume in the report: Tons (default) or Tonnes.
  • Date: Filter the report to show only tasks that are within the date range chosen.
  • Timezone: Select what timezone will be applied when filtering the date range.
  • Client Type: Filter the report to show only tasks that are related to the selected client type(s).

Please Note: The report will automatically update after each filter option is selected or changed. 

Sorting the Table

After using the filters based on your preferences, you have additional options to sort the data that is presented in the table below.

  1. Click one of  the table’s column headers.
  2. Select your sorting preference.
    • Each column can be sorted either alphabetically A-Z or Z-A OR numerically ascending or descending. For instance, the Total Count column will sort numerically while the Category column will sort alphabetically. 

Export or Send the Dumpster Rentals by Category [Beta] Report

Export Report

Once you have your report displaying the information you want, you can download it for your records. 

  1. Hover over the table so a menu appears in the top right corner of the table.
  2. Click the three vertical dots.
  3. In the menu that appears, hover over "Export."
  4. Select your file preference in the list of options that appear in the dropdown and the report will download in the file format you selected.
    • When exporting as a PDF, you can choose Portrait or Landscape layout.

Please Note: You can export up to 1 million rows at a time. If your table contains more than 1 million rows, we recommend using filters to break the data into smaller, exportable chunks.

Send Report

In addition to downloading the report to your computer, you can also email the report.

  1. Hover over the table so a menu appears in the top right corner of the table.
  2. Click the three vertical dots.
  3. In the menu that appears, hover over "Export."
  4. Click "Export…" at the bottom of the list under the Send section.

  5. In the pop-up that appears, click the mail icon.

  6. Enter the email address of the recipient.
  7. Click "Export" to send an email with the report attached.

Please Note: On the final screen, you can also customize the email subject, select specific attachments and file types, or send the report as a .zip file.
