🚀 Introducing: New Account Statements and Controls
Earlier this year, we introduced the ability to send your account statements directly from Docket. This feature made it possible to send an account statement to a single client, or use the bulk send option to send thousands at once. Your feedback was clear: while this helped streamline operations and significantly reduced clicks, the account statements themselves needed some love!
As a result, we've upgraded the Account Statement feature to give you more control over the information your clients receive, and to make the statements crystal clear and easier for them to read. This clarity is designed to help your clients easily understand their bills and pay you faster!
Â
Why These Changes Are Important
The new account statement layout and controls help you:
Customize Content: Choose exactly which details (like invoice line items or payment history) your clients see on the statement, including filtering to specific service address(es).
Improve Readability: The new PDF design is organized by service address, clearly branded, and easier for clients to scan and understand, speeding up their review process.
Faster Payments: By making the financial information clearer and providing prominent links and QR codes for online payment, we hope to reduce the time it takes for you to get paid.
New Options When Creating an Account Statement
The following settings are available when creating a statement:
Show Unpaid Bills Only: This option remains available and allows you to filter the statement to show only invoices with an outstanding balance, keeping the statement focused on invoices needing payment.
-
Include Invoice Details: This is a new setting that lets you control what info is shown under each invoice. When selected, you can choose one of the two detail options below to display nested information beneath each invoice record:
None (default): We will show the invoices, but no additional details about each. Great for keeping your account statements concise.
Show detailed payment records for each invoice: Displays the payment date, payment method, and amount applied to the invoice. Each payment is displayed in its own row.
Show line item descriptions for each invoice: Displays a row for each line item name, quantity, and service date (if available) on the invoice.
-
Invoice Description Content: This is a new setting that determines what content appears in the main description column for each invoice:
You must select only one of the following options: Service Date Range (default), Summary of Work, Project Name, or PO Number. This replaces the redundant display of Invoice Number on the previous version of Account Statements.
Show Unapplied Payments & Credits: This new toggle controls whether a dedicated section appears on the statement showing unapplied funds and credits the client has on their account.

Filtering by Service Address (Single Client Only)
If your client has multiple service addresses, the "Create Account Statement" modal now includes an additional filter.
You can select a subset of service addresses to include in the statement.
The default selection is "All Service Addresses".
Service Address names are also displayed (if available).
Note: This service address filter is not available when using the Bulk Send feature, which will automatically include all service addresses for each client selected.

Updated Account Statement PDF Design
The new PDF is designed for improved clarity and readability, making it easier for your clients to understand their account status and the aging of their unpaid invoices.
Â
Â
đź’° Financial Summary & Aging
The top of the statement now features a clear financial summary and an overdue breakdown:
Financial Summary: Clearly displays the Billing Period, Total Invoiced, Total Paid, Credit Balance, and the Total Due.
Aging Report: A dedicated section shows unpaid bills categorized by how overdue they are: 1-30 Days Overdue, 31-60 Days Overdue, 61-90 Days Overdue, and 90+ Days Overdue.
Â
📝 Organized Invoice Details
All invoices are now organized automatically to improve context and flow:
Grouping: Invoices are grouped by Service Address.
Sorting: Service Address groups are sorted alphabetically.
"No Service Address" Group: Invoices that lack a service address are grouped under "No Service Address," which always appears as the last group.
Invoice Sorting: Within each group, records are sorted by Due Date, with the oldest invoices appearing first.
Â
Each invoice record displays the Bill Date, Due Date, the Total (pre-payment), and the remaining Balance.
đź”’ Payment Links and Online Access
For clients that have Client Dashboard access enabled, the statement makes paying easy:
Clickable Invoice Numbers: Each Invoice # is a clickable link that directs the client to the Invoices page on their dashboard.
Easy Online Payment: A single, prominent online payment link and a QR code are included, both leading directly to the client dashboard home page for immediate payment.
Â
We hope that these changes help to make your billing practices easier, eliminate client concerns, and get you paid faster!
