Feature Update: IronRouteAI Solver 2.1.0

The IronRouteAI optimization engine has been updated to version 2.1.0. This release focuses on route quality, routing accuracy, and result consistency.

Audience: IronRouteAI Users (Pro Plus Plan)

What Changed

  • Stops that are geographically close together now stay on the same route instead of being distributed across multiple routes. In testing, this produced up to an approximately 8% reduction in total distance driven.
  • Routes now account for time-of-day traffic conditions, so the plan your drivers receive better reflects what they will actually experience on the road.
  • Road selection now respects commercial vehicle restrictions, so drivers are no longer sent down roads that are impractical or off-limits for their trucks.
  • The solver now treats available container inventory at the yard as a firm limit throughout the entire routing pipeline. No route will be generated that requires more containers than you have on hand.
  • Running the same optimization inputs now returns consistent results every time, making it easier to verify and trust the output.

Why It Matters
Previously, stops in the same area could end up scattered across different routes, adding unnecessary miles to the day. Better traffic modeling and tighter geographic grouping mean the routes your drivers actually run should now more closely match what IronRouteAI planned.

Feature Update: Better Layout for Service Addresses

Address cards for Commercial and Residential stops have been tightened up, making them shorter and easier to scan at a glance.

Audience: Commercial and Residential Customers

What Changed

  • Address cards now use tighter spacing between fields and sections, reducing vertical length.
  • The map and action buttons remain in place. Only the text content above them has been condensed.

Why It Matters
Previously, the extra padding on address cards stretched the content out, which made it harder to quickly read the key details you needed. The updated layout fits more information into less space.

Feature Update: Saved Stop Dates for Unscheduled Stops

When you remove a temporary stop from a future route that hasn't been built yet, Docket now remembers and restores the original date you had set for that stop.

Audience: Commercial and Residential Customers

What Changed

  • Removing a temporary stop from a future, ungenerated route no longer clears the stop's scheduled date.
  • The stop returns to the Unassigned list on the date you originally picked, not across every day's list.

Why It Matters
Previously, removing a stop from a future route caused it to lose its scheduled date entirely, making it appear in every day's Unassigned list. You had to manually find it and reassign the correct date. The stop now goes back exactly where you expect it.

Feature Update: Image Metadata on Web

Images uploaded from the Docket Mobile App now display metadata as an overlay when viewed on the web.

What Changed

  • Images taken or uploaded via the mobile app now show an overlay on the web preview with the following information, when available: timestamp of when the image was captured, driver name, and GPS coordinates.
  • If an image has no metadata, it appears normally with no overlay or empty state.

Why It Matters
Dispatchers and back-office staff viewing photos, like weight ticket scans or job site images, previously had no way to confirm when, where, or by whom a photo was taken from the web. This is especially useful for compliance documentation and weight tickets.

Feature Update: Mobile Credit Card Payment Enhancements

Drivers can now save a client's credit card to their profile and set it as the default payment method during checkout in the Docket Mobile App.

Audience: Drivers using the Docket Mobile App and Collecting Payments in the Field

What Changed

  • During a manual card entry payment, drivers can check "Save Card on File" to store the card on the client's profile.
  • A second option, "Set as Default Payment Method," becomes available when saving a card. Checking both saves the card and marks it as the client's default for future payments.
  • For manually entered cards, the app now pre-fills the billing address from the client's profile when one is on file. If no address is saved, drivers can enter it manually.
  • After a successful card reader payment, drivers are prompted to save the card if it isn't already on file, with the option to set it as the default.

Why It Matters
Previously, drivers had no way to save a card to a client's profile during a field payment. Repeat clients had to re-enter card details every time. This update lets your team capture and store payment methods on the spot, reducing friction for future visits.

Fixes

Invoice Alert Appearing Incorrectly on Repeat-Billing Accounts: Fixed an issue where creating an invoice from a repeat-billing account triggered a warning stating there were no billable activities, even when billable activity existed. The warning no longer appears when the account has charges to invoice.

Calendar Preview Showing Wrong Run Dates for Recurring Stops: Corrected the scheduling preview calendar for recurring stops set to repeat every time the route operates. The calendar now shows the correct future service dates matching the route's configured run days.

Temporary Stops Disappearing After Daily Schedule Generation: Fixed an issue where temporary, custom stops were being detached from a driver's manifest after the daily schedule was generated, causing them to disappear entirely. Stops now remain visible and assigned as expected after the manifest is built.

Job Date Changes Not Saving in the Mobile App: Fixed an issue introduced in the June 17 app update where changing the date or time on a scheduled job and tapping save was not moving the job to the new date on the driver's schedule. Date and time changes now save and apply correctly.

Weight Ticket Photos Resetting During Task Completion: Fixed an issue where photos added to a weight ticket were disappearing each time a driver advanced through the steps to complete a disposal task. Photos now stay attached throughout the entire task completion flow.

Dump Expense Calculator Not Calculating Correctly: Resolved an issue where the dump expense calculator on the weight ticket was returning an error requiring cubic yards when the job was measured in tons. The calculator now correctly pulls in expense costs based on your configured dump location rates.

Offline Mode Triggering Incorrectly for Connected Users: Fixed an issue where users with an active internet connection were being placed into offline mode, causing photos to queue instead of upload and, in some cases, be lost. The offline indicator now only triggers when a connection is genuinely lost. Photos taken while offline are also now backed up to the device's camera roll.
