Workflow Change: Pay This Invoice Auto-Saves Cards

When your account has Save Card on File turned on and Client Has Option to Save Card on File turned off, a card entered while a client pays through the "Pay This Invoice" email link now saves automatically for future payments, matching how the Client Dashboard already works. To learn more about these settings, please review the following article Billing Settings: Invoice

What Changed

  • A card entered while paying through the Pay This Invoice link now saves to the client's profile automatically, with no toggle to turn on.
  • The confirmation screen shows the card was saved.
  • The saved card shows up on Cards on File with the last four digits and expiration date, so you can charge it later.
  • This flow still doesn't give clients access to previously saved payment methods. Only the new auto-save applies.
  • Accounts with Client Has Option to Save Card on File turned on keep today's toggle.
  • ACH payments are never saved automatically.

Why It Matters
Previously, a client paying through the Pay This Invoice link had no way to save their card, even on accounts already set up to auto-save everywhere else. That meant your team sometimes had to collect the same card again on the next invoice. Now this flow behaves the same way the Client Dashboard already does.

Fixes

Dumpsters.com Integration Stuck on Loading After Entering Partner ID: Entering a Partner ID during the Dumpsters.com integration setup could leave the screen stuck on "loading" with an authentication error, that's resolved. The Partner ID step now completes as expected.

Weight Overage Billing Issues Not Appearing on Broker-Accepted Tasks: Tasks accepted through the broker network weren't saving the weight allowance and cost per ton needed to catch overages, so weight-overage billing issues never appeared, even though the weight ticket showed the correct terms, that's resolved. Billing issues for weight overages now appear as expected on broker-accepted tasks.

Role Permissions Not Enforced for Asset Creation, Charge Creation, and Reports Access: Turning off the "Can Create Asset," "Can Create Charge," or Reports webpage permissions for a role didn't actually restrict access, that's resolved. If your account has these permissions turned off for a role, that role will now see the restriction take effect for the first time.
