9/22/2026 - IronRouteAI Route Balancing, New Client Contact Requirements, Start Time and Yard on Recurring Routes, Fixes

These updates are available on September 22, 2026. Hard refresh your browser or update the Docket Mobile App to v4.6.3 to make sure you're seeing the latest version.

Feature Update: More Balanced IronRouteAI Routes

Audience: IronRouteAI Users (Pro Plus Plan)

What Changed

  • IronRoute keeps refining a route after the first pass instead of stopping there.
  • Each route gets its own length limit instead of one fixed limit applied across your whole fleet.
  • Routes can cost slightly more than the cheapest possible plan when that meaningfully evens out driver workloads. In practice, this rarely adds much cost.

Why It Matters
Previously, IronRoute optimized once and applied a single length limit to every driver, which could leave some routes short and others overloaded. Routes now balance driver workloads more evenly without you doing anything differently.

Workflow Change: Contact Info Required for New Clients via Create Stop

Audience: Commercial and Residential Customers

Recurring Route_ John's SF Thursday (2).png

What Changed

  • Creating a new client through Create Stop → New Client now requires a phone number or email.
  • You'll see a specific error message if you try to save without one.
  • This matches the requirement already in place on the standalone Add Client flow.

Why It Matters
Previously, clients created this way could be saved with no way to reach them. That left some clients unreachable later, including for customer portal login. Every new client now has at least one way to get in touch, no matter how they were added.

Workflow Change: Start Time and Yard Required on Recurring Routes

Recurring Route_ John's SF Thursday (3).png

Audience: Commercial and Residential Customers

What Changed

  • Recurring Route Templates now require a Start Time and Start/End Yard before you can save.
  • If your account has a primary yard, Start and End Yard auto-fill with it. You can still change the selection if you have other yards.
  • If you don't have any yards set up yet, you'll see a prompt to add one without leaving route creation.
  • This applies whether you're creating a new route template or editing an existing one.

Why It Matters
Previously, Start Time and Yard were optional fields added as groundwork in an earlier release. They're now required so Docket can calculate accurate distance and time values for upcoming route optimization features.

Fixes

Employee Photos Breaking Dispatch, Today, and Assets Pages: Fixed an issue where an employee with a blank profile picture could break the Dispatch, Today, and Assets pages. These pages now load correctly regardless of whether a profile picture is set.

Employees Stuck After Moving Off No Access: Fixed an issue where employees moved to No Access couldn't be moved back to an active role. You can now move an employee from No Access back to any active role.

First-Login Passwords Strengthened for PCI Compliance: Fixed an issue where newly generated first-login passwords didn't meet the updated PCI DSS 4.0.1 requirements. New accounts now start off more secure.

Online Booking Storefront Editing After Re-Enrollment: Fixed an issue where, after re-enrolling on a new Docket account, the Online Booking storefront admin could still edit and publish the old, cancelled account's storefront instead of the new one. Storefront edits now apply to your current account.

App Crashing When Viewing C&R Routes With a Failed or Flagged Stop: Fixed an issue where opening a C&R route with a failed stop or a stop with a logged issue could crash the Docket Mobile App, and reopening the route crashed it again. You can now open these routes without the app crashing.
