Workflow Change: Split Exchange Weight Overage Billing
What Changed
- Exchange tasks now calculate weight overages using the pick-up side's weight allowance and cost per ton, not the drop-off side's.
- The pick-up side reflects the dumpster being collected, since that's the container with waste in it.
- This applies going forward only. Past exchange tasks aren't reprocessed.
Why It Matters
Previously, Docket calculated weight overages using the drop-off side's weight allowance instead of the pick-up side's. That let clients avoid overage charges they actually owed, and the difference came out of your bottom line without you knowing it.

Feature Update: Line Items Default to a Task's Date
What Changed
- New line items added to a task now default to that task's scheduled date instead of today's date.
- This applies to future-dated tasks, so you no longer need to manually correct the date on each line item.
Why It Matters
Previously, line items added to a future-dated task defaulted to today's date. That meant an extra manual correction every time, and an easy one to miss.
Workflow Change: Default Activity Durations by Commercial and Residential
Audience: Commercial and Residential Customers
What Changed
- Admins can now set separate default activity durations for Commercial and Residential tasks, plus Collect and a fallback default, under Account Settings.
- Manual overrides you've already set on individual stops aren't affected by changes to these defaults.
Why It Matters
Previously, one default duration applied across all C&R activity types, which made route time estimates less accurate for businesses running a mix of Commercial and Residential work. Splitting the defaults gives you more accurate estimates without touching stops you've already customized.
Workflow Change: Create-Stop Schedule Settings, Cleaned Up
Audience: Commercial and Residential Customers
What Changed
- When creating a new recurring stop, monthly schedule options (selection mode, ordinal, day of month) now appear before route selection and correctly filter which routes show as eligible.
- Desired Service Time is now optional and hidden until you add it, instead of always showing on screen.
Why It Matters
Previously, monthly schedule fields showed after route selection and didn't always filter eligible routes correctly, and Desired Service Time cluttered the screen even when you didn't need it.
Workflow Change: Past and Future Completes Land on Today's Schedule
Audience: Drivers using the Docket Mobile App
What Changed
- Completing a task that was scheduled for a different day now moves it onto today's schedule right away.
Why It Matters
Previously, completing a task scheduled for a different day made it disappear from both the original day and today, with no record of it on either. Now it lands where you completed it.
Fixes
Blank Screen After a Release: Fixed an issue where the app could show a blank white screen right after a Docket release, requiring a manual refresh to clear. The app now loads correctly after a release with no refresh needed.
Tax Applied to Promo and Discount Amounts: Fixed an issue where tax was applied to promo and discount amounts on Online Booking orders, causing invoice totals to not match what clients paid. Tax now calculates correctly on discounted Online Booking orders.
Fuel Surcharge Mileage on Ferry Routes: Fixed an issue where the distance-based fuel surcharge under-reported mileage on routes that cross a ferry, causing the surcharge to be under-charged or missed entirely. Ferry route mileage now calculates accurately.
Online Booking Time Window Cutoff: Fixed an issue where Online Booking orders with a selected time window only carried the start time into Docket instead of the full window. The full time window now carries over correctly.
Password Strength Rules on Employee Admin Resets: Fixed an issue where Employee Admin password resets didn't enforce required password strength rules (12+ characters, upper and lowercase, a number, and a special character). Resets now require a compliant password.
Password Strength Rules on Invite Signup: Fixed an issue where the invite signup password step didn't enforce the same password strength rules as Employee Admin resets. New teammates now set up their accounts with a compliant password.
Billing History Disappearing After Multi-Invoice Payment: Fixed an issue where paying multiple invoices at once could make a client's billing history disappear until the client record was reopened. Billing history now displays correctly right after payment.
Dumpster Board Failing to Load on the Vehicle Page: Fixed an issue where the dumpster board on the vehicle page failed to load and showed an error for all vehicles. The dumpster board now loads correctly.
Yard Routing for Drivers: Fixed an issue where the app asked drivers to pick a yard location instead of routing them to the yard the dispatcher had already assigned. Drivers are now routed to the assigned yard automatically.
Task History Attribution: Fixed an issue where task changes made in the mobile app showed up in task history as made by "Unknown" instead of the actual user. Task history now shows the correct user.
Driver PIN Not Saving to the Task: Fixed an issue where the PIN entered when completing a service task in the mobile app wasn't saving to the task in Docket. PINs now save as expected.
Container PIN After Relinking: Fixed an issue where the driver app kept asking for the PIN of a container's old task link instead of the newly linked one after dispatch relinked a task. The app now asks for the correct PIN after relinking.
