This guide explains why you're being asked to set a new password, how to do it, and what to do if you get stuck at any point.
Why this is happening
Yesterday evening 9/17/26, Docket rolled out a platform-wide security update. It logs out all users and requires everyone to set a new password meeting stronger requirements.
This applies to every account at the same time. It's tied to our platform-wide release schedule, so we can't apply it on an account-by-account basis or offer individual cutover windows. We know password resets are never convenient, this update strengthens security for every account on Docket, which is why it applies across the board.
New password requirements
- At least 12 characters
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one special character
How to reset your password
If you have a valid login email
- Try logging in to Docket as usual.
- You'll receive a secure reset link by email.
- Open the email and click the link.
- Enter and confirm your new password.
- Log back in with your new password.
If you're an admin resetting a password for someone on your team
Some team members log in with a shared account or a placeholder email that can't receive a reset link. If that's the case, an admin needs to set the password directly:
- Go to the Employees tab.
- Click the employee's name.
- Open the Admin tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and select the password reset option.
- Share the new password with them directly.
Didn't receive the reset email?
First, check your spam or junk folder. If it's still not there, the most common cause is your email provider filtering it out.
If your email is hosted through GoDaddy, GoDaddy's filtering likely flagged or blocked our sender address, noreply@yourdocket.com. Here's how to fix it:
Step 1: Identify your GoDaddy email setup
- If you log into email through Outlook or GoDaddy webmail, use Fix A.
- If Fix A's settings don't match what you see, you likely have Advanced Email Security. Use Fix B.
Fix A: Standard GoDaddy Email (Microsoft 365)
- Sign in to your email (Outlook or GoDaddy webmail).
- Go to Settings → Junk Email (or Junk Email Preferences).
- Under Blocked Senders, remove noreply@yourdocket.com if it's listed.
- Add noreply@yourdocket.com to your Safe Senders list.
- Go back to Docket and request the password reset again.
Fix B: GoDaddy Advanced Email Security
- Sign in to your GoDaddy Advanced Email Security portal.
- Go to Email → Block List, remove noreply@yourdocket.com if listed.
- Go to Allow List → Add Allow Entry → enter noreply@yourdocket.com.
- Go back to Docket and request the password reset again.
Don't have admin access to that portal? Ask whoever manages your email or IT to complete this step.
I'm the only admin on the account and I've lost access to my email entirely
This is different from your email just blocking our messages, this is for when you can't get into that inbox at all (for example, it belonged to someone who's no longer with the company).
If that's your situation, contact our support team (see below). We'll verify your identity, then set you up with temporary access so you can reset your original login and get back to normal.
