Weight Tickets Report Overview

The Weight Tickets Report gives you one place to see every completed haul with a recorded weight ticket, along with tonnage totals broken down by client, client type, city, county, or dumpster size.

Instead of running separate reports for ticket-level detail and tonnage summaries, you get one report with a Report View dropdown that switches between six different ways to look at your weight ticket data.

Before You Start

Here are a few things to know before you continue:

  • By default, Admins and Office Staff have access to Reports. Admins can also choose to grant access to other roles.
  • If you don't see the Reports option in your menu, you may not have the necessary permissions. Reach out to your Admin for access.
  • If you are an Admin and would like to grant additional employees access to reports, please check out this article.
  • The Date Range filter and the Date column reflect the task’s scheduled day, not when it was completed or dumped. On a small number of tasks, these can land a day apart.
  • A completed haul only shows up on this report if it has a recorded weight or cubic yard value. A haul with neither won’t appear on any of the six views except Average Tonnage by Size.

Key Features

  • Summary: Shows your total cubic yards, overage tons, tickets, tons, and dump expense for the selected filters.
  • Filtering Options: Filter results by timezone, date range, dumpster location, material type, client, and broker task.
  • Report Views: Switch between six views, Weight Tickets, Tonnage by Client, Tonnage by Client Type, Tonnage by City, Tonnage by County, and Average Tonnage by Size, to see your weight ticket data broken down the way you need it.

Run the Weight Tickets Report

To run the Weight Tickets Report, follow these steps:

  1. Click “Reports” in the left-hand menu under Administration.
  2. Scroll down to find the Weight Tickets Report listed under Operations Reports.
  3. Click the “Open Inline” icon to run the report in Docket.

Please Note: For more information on other ways to run a report,  please check out this article.

Weight Tickets Report Summary

When the report loads, the summary at the top gives you a snapshot of your weight ticket activity for the selected filters. These tiles stay the same no matter which Report View you have open below them.

The categories in this summary are:

  • Total Cubic Yards: Total cubic yards recorded across your tickets.
  • Total Overage Tons: Tons hauled beyond your clients’ included Weight Allowance.
  • Total Tickets: Overall number of weight tickets matching your filters.
  • Total Tons: Total weight hauled across those tickets.
  • Total Dump Expense: Total cost across those tickets, highlighted since it’s often the number you’ll check first.

Please Note: Overage Tons only applies to clients billed by haul-plus-tonnage pricing. If a client is on a flat rate, you won’t see overage tons even if their tickets carry a Weight Allowance.

Weight Tickets Report Filters

Use the filters at the top of the report to narrow your results.

  • Units of Measure: Switch the report between Tons and Tonnes. Defaults to Tons.
  • Weight Ticket Images: Show or hide the Image column. Defaults to Hide.
  • Report View: Switch the table below between six breakdowns of your weight ticket data. Defaults to Weight Tickets.
  • Timezone: Controls how every date and time in the report is interpreted and displayed. Defaults to Eastern Time (US & Canada).
  • Date Range: Filters tickets by the task’s scheduled date for the chosen range. Defaults to “This month.”
  • Dumpster Location: Narrow results to one or more specific dump locations.

In addition to the filters that appear at the top of the report, you can click “All Filters” to use additional filters for your report.

Additional filters include:

  • Material Type: Narrow results to one or more specific dumpster materials.
  • Client: Narrow results to one or more specific clients.
  • Broker Task: Filter to tasks tied to a broker client, True or False.

The report automatically updates after each filter option is selected or changed.

Weight Tickets Report Views

Click into the “Report View” dropdown to switch the table below the summary between six different breakdowns of your weight ticket data.

Weight Tickets

This is the default view. It gives you one row per weight ticket, with no grouping. Columns include Date, Ticket Number, Dumpster Materials, Total Tons, Cubic Yards, Dump Expense, Image, Task Number, Client, Service Address, and Weight Allowance.

Please Note: Weight Allowance shows the tons included in a client’s pricing, not what was actually hauled. Compare it against Total Tons to see if a ticket went over.

Tonnage by Client

This view groups your tickets by client and shows each client’s total tickets, total tons, overage tons, and dump expenses. Expanding a client shows the individual tickets behind it, grouped by date, including ticket number, dumpster materials, service address, dump location, and PIN.

Tonnage by Client Type

This view groups your tickets by client type and shows the same totals as Tonnage by Client. If you haven’t assigned a client type to a client, their tickets appear under “Unassigned.”

Tonnage by City

This view groups your tickets by city and shows the same totals as Tonnage by Client.

Tonnage by County

This view groups your tickets by county and shows the same totals as Tonnage by Client.

Average Tonnage by Size

This view works differently than the other five. It shows a flat table with no grouping or expandable rows, one row per dumpster size, with Count, Tons, and Average (Tons) columns.

Please Note: This view counts every completed haul for the selected size, including ones with no weight recorded (counted as 0 tons). Because of that, its totals won’t always match the other five views, which only include tickets with a recorded weight or cubic yard value.

Expand or Collapse Details in a Table

On the four Tonnage by views, rows load expanded by default so you can see ticket-level detail right away. Click the “-” icon next to a row to collapse it.

TIP: Click the "+" or "-" icon in the column header to expand or collapse every row in the table at once, instead of doing it one row at a time.

Sort the Weight Tickets Report

After using the filters based on your preferences, you have additional options to sort the data that is presented in the table.

To sort the data in a table using the column headers:

  1. Click the down arrow at the top of one of the table’s column headers.
  2. Select your sort preference or click the gear icon for additional options.
    • Each column can be sorted either alphabetically A-Z or Z-A OR numerically ascending or descending. For instance, the Total Tons column will sort numerically while the Dumpster Materials column will sort alphabetically.

Export or Send the Weight Tickets Report

You can download or email the tables in the Weight Tickets Report.

Export the Report

Once you have the table in the report displaying the information you want, you can download it for your records.

  1. Hover over the table so a menu appears in the top right corner of the table.
  2. Click the three vertical dots.
  3. In the menu that appears, hover over “Export.”
  4. Select your file preference in the list of options that appear in the dropdown and the report will download in the file format you selected.
    • When exporting as a PDF, you can choose Portrait or Landscape layout.

Please Note: You can export up to 1 million rows at a time. If your table contains more than 1 million rows, we recommend using filters to break the data into smaller, exportable chunks.

Send the Report

In addition to downloading the table in the report to your computer, you can also email it.

  1. Hover over the table so a menu appears in the top right corner of the table.
  2. Click the three vertical dots.
  3. In the menu that appears, hover over “Export.”
  4. Click “Export…” at the bottom of the list under the Send section.

  5. In the pop-up that appears, click into the Destination field and select “Email” in the drop-down menu.

  6. Enter the email address of the recipient.
  7. Click “Export” to send an email with the report attached.

Please Note: On the final screen, you can also customize the email subject and message, select specific attachments and file types, or send the report as a .zip file.
