The Client Dashboard is a secure, self-service platform that gives your customers 24/7 access to view and pay their invoices and request a service. It’s mobile-friendly, branded with your company logo, and designed to reduce inbound calls to your office.
From your Docket account, you can control which customers have portal access, whether they can request a service from their dashboard, and whether they're allowed to pay invoices through their dashboard.
Before You Start
Here are a few things to know before you continue:
- Client Dashboard Access must be turned on in your Client Settings for any of your clients to access their dashboards.
- Your clients need a valid email address or phone number listed under their Primary Contact information to log in to their dashboard.
- Your clients can log in to their dashboard via https://clients.yourdocket.com.
- There are additional Client Dashboard settings we encourage you to review and enable/disable as needed.
About the Client Dashboard
Every client you add to your Docket account automatically gets their own Client Dashboard.
From their dashboard, clients can view and pay open invoices, save a payment method for faster checkout, request new services, and track their dumpster tasks in real time, all without picking up the phone to call you or your team.
A well-used Client Dashboard cuts down on the calls and texts your office receives, speeds up how fast you get paid, and builds trust with your clients by keeping them in the loop on their account and job status.
From their dashboard your clients can:
- View, sign, and pay their open invoices.
- View previously paid invoices. If you void/delete an invoice, it won't appear on the client's dashboard.
- Save a payment method for faster checkout on future invoices.
- Request a new dumpster rental, exchange, or pickup. This can be enabled/disabled in your Dumpster Management settings.
- Track the status of their dumpster tasks, including photos and weight tickets added to the task. This can be enabled/disabled in your Dumpster Management settings.

From your Docket account you can:
- Control which buttons and images your clients see on their dashboard.
- Turn client dashboard access on or off, for all clients or just specific profiles.
- Control how dumpster rental requests come in if you're using DocketShop.
- Preview a client's dashboard and send them a direct link to it.
Give Your Clients Access to Their Dashboard
Your clients can access their dashboard on their own or you can send them a direct link. Which method you use depends on how hands-on you want to be.
Client Self-Access
Your clients can go straight to their dashboard any time without waiting on you by going to client.yourdocket.com, entering their email address or phone number, and then entering the one-time verification code they receive to unlock their dashboard.
Please Note: Client Dashboards only work with the emails and phone numbers listed under a client's Primary Contact section, not their general Contacts tab. You'll need to keep your clients' Primary Contact information accurate and up to date so they don't run into login issues.
Share a Dashboard Link
If you want to send your client a direct link to their dashboard, just follow the instructions below:
- From the client's profile, click on “Actions”.
- Click on “Share Dashboard Link” from the list that appears.
- Select which type of message you'd like to send to your client from the prompt that appears.
- Click “Send.”
TIP: You can also tell your client to go directly to client.yourdocket.com.
Remove a Client's Dashboard Access
By default, clients have access to their client dashboard automatically after you add them to your Docket account.
You can disable dashboard access for all client profiles globally within your account (not recommended) or for individual client profiles.
To turn off dashboard access for a specific client in your account, just follow the instructions below:
- From a client's profile, click on "Client Settings" at the top.
- Click to expand the Client Dashboard section.
- Click on the Client Dashboard Access toggle to turn it off (gray).
To turn off client dashboard access for every client in your account (not recommended), just follow the instructions below:
- Click on “Account” in the bottom left corner.
- Click on “Settings” at the top.
- Click on “Company” right below.
- Click on “View” on the Client Settings card.
- Click to expand the Client Dashboard section.
- Click on the Client Dashboard Access toggle to turn it off (gray).
Preview a Client's Dashboard
If you want to preview what a client is seeing or walk them through something over the phone, you can preview their dashboard from their profile.
To preview a client's dashboard, just follow the instructions below:
- From the client's profile, click on “Actions”.
- Click on “View Client Dashboard” from the list that appears.
The client's dashboard will open in a separate browser tab for you to review. You'll be able to see everything your client sees, including whether they have a saved payment method on file.
Please Note: You won't be able to use a client's saved payment method to submit a payment on their behalf through their client dashboard, but you'll be able to use it inside your Docket account when applying payment to an invoice.
Manage What Clients See in Their Dashboard
There are two separate areas in your Docket account that hold client dashboard-specific settings where you can enable or disable certain items from all of your clients' dashboards (global settings).
There is also a settings section within each profile where you can enable or disable certain items from a single client's dashboard.
Global Dashboard Settings
In your Client Settings section, you'll see a Client Dashboard section that holds 2 dashboard-specific settings that apply to ALL of your client profiles/dashboards.
Client Dashboard Access
This setting is ON by default.
Turning this setting off means that all of your clients will no longer have access to their Client Dashboards and cannot pay their invoices online. We strongly recommend leaving this setting on.
DocketShop Ordering
This setting is OFF by default.
If you’re using DocketShop, we strongly recommend turning this setting on so your clients can order new dumpsters through DocketShop. These requests will come in just like online orders from your website.
If you leave this setting turned off, clients will fill out a Request Dumpster form in their Client Dashboard and those requests will appear in the Requests section of your Docket account.
Under Dumpster Management, you'll see a Client Dashboard section that holds 5 dashboard-specific settings that apply to all of your client profiles/dashboards.
Show Request Dumpster Button

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
These FAQs address common questions and quick clarifications to help you use this feature with confidence.
Why Can't My Client Access Their Dashboard?
There are three reasons why your clients may run into issues accessing their dashboard:
- Global Client Dashboard Access may turned off in your account.
- Client-specific Client Dashboard Access may be turned off in their profile.
- The email/phone number the client is using isn't listed under their Primary Contact information.
Can More Than One Person Access a Client's Dashboard?
Yes. You can add more than one email or phone number to a client's Primary Contact section and anyone using one of those emails/numbers can complete the verification process to reach their dashboard.
Can I Control What My Clients See on Their Dashboard?
Yes. You can turn specific buttons and images on or off for all of your clients, like the request pick up button or weight ticket images, from the Client Dashboard section of your Dumpster Management settings.
Can I Make a Payment on a Client's Behalf From Their Dashboard?
No. When you preview a client's dashboard using “View Client Dashboard,” you can see if they have a saved payment method on file, but you can't use it to submit a payment. This keeps your clients' payment information secure.
